This is terminology relating to the conveyancing process once a property is sold. Exchange refers to the point in a sale where the transaction is legally binding. Completion refers to the date agreed for the funds to land & the transfer of ownership to be finalised.
It is a non-refundable fee the buyer pays to secure a property. The reservation fee is in addition to the purchase price and is 2% to a minimum of £2,500 plus VAT.
